Where It Started...
It all began with a chance encounter.
As strangers from different corners of the North of England, we met while flat hunting in Brighton, united by a shared aspiration to "make it" in the music industry.
Little did we know, this chance meeting would forge a connection that has withstood life's twists and turns—an 18-year and counting journey that laid the foundation our professional collaboration.
Where We've Been...
In our early careers, we hit the stages together, driving to every corner of the UK, performing to anyone that would hire us. We honed our live performance skills and accumulated invaluable industry knowledge.
When life's creative winds pushed us in different directions, Rachel embarked on a journey as a backing singer for established artists, gracing prestigious venues globally. A self-proclaimed voice geek, she earned a master’s degree in voice pedagogy, coaching performers at the UK’s top contemporary music institutions.
Meanwhile, Alix ventured into the industry as a singer in a signed girl band, gaining life and business skills within the music world. Her session and recording experiences led to TV credits, fuelling her passion for voiceover work.
Where We Are Heading...
But like many singers, alongside the career highs, we’ve also faced the all too common challenges—overwhelm, frustration, self doubt, and struggles with well-being whilst trying to navigate a creative career.
As empaths, mothers, and advocates for young talent, we felt a calling to be a source of nurturing support for aspiring singers.
This shared vision formed the beginning of GET.THE.GIG; a safe space for singers to know you are not alone in your mission.
